As pioneers in E-stop innovation for the past 70-plus years, IDEC has developed advanced “safe break action” technology to stop a machine in conditions where conventional E-stops are more likely to fail. Safe break action is a reverse energy structure that disconnects normally closed (NC) contacts, providing a fail-safe shutoff even if the switch is damaged or the contact blocks separate. These situations can challenge E-stops that use spring pressure on NC contacts, causing them to fail when you need them the most.

A wide range of E-stop sizes and styles are available to suit practically any industrial setting, including both general purpose switches and specialized designs. From petite switches that fit 16-mm panel holes on small machines to 30-mm panel hole sizes for hazardous locations, IDEC has just the right E-stop for your safety application. For example, the X6 and XW models feature smooth buttons to resist dirt buildup in food and beverage applications, while the XN4E provides an additional safety layer for hazardous locations by adding a lockout feature.
